StockPets Terms of Service

1. A virtual game

StockPets is a game. Coins, seeds, crops, farm upgrades and every other in-game item are virtual. They have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money, prizes or anything else, transferred or withdrawn. StockPets is not a brokerage, bank or financial service.

2. Not investment advice

Nothing in StockPets is investment, financial, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Results in the game do not predict or reflect real investment results.

3. How historical data is used

• The game starts in January 1996 and advances a month when you choose. After the first 12 months, one calendar page refills every eight hours, up to three pages.
• Company seeds appear or become unavailable according to the periods in the bundled archive and the game rules.
• Each seed starts at 100 coins in its first recorded month and then follows split-adjusted monthly price changes. Dividends, taxes, fees and acquisition payouts are not simulated.
• When our archive records a company’s delisting, including a delisting caused by an acquisition, that company’s crop dies and its game value becomes zero. This is a game rule and differs from what real shareholders receive.
• Historical records may contain errors or gaps. Crops marked as having price records that end before the company does are automatically harvested at the last price. Game prices beyond the bundled archive are a fictional simulation using historical monthly changes and market movements, not actual future stock prices.
• Company names and tickers belong to their owners. StockPets is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by any company or data provider shown in the game.

Advancing several months processes each month in order and may stop at events such as adulthood or a crop ending. Data updates may refund the purchase cost of removed instruments or harvest instruments whose records have ended at their last price.

4. Device storage and backups

The app runs entirely on your device without sign-in. Pets, farms, virtual coins, game dates, language and settings are stored in journey.json and local device storage. We do not collect game records or transmit them to a server. There is no company account or server synchronization.

Choose Start over in Settings and confirm to reset progress on this device. Export any records you need first. Copies exported elsewhere must be deleted separately. Records may be unrecoverable after uninstalling the app or losing the device.

Depending on your device and operating-system settings, game records may be included in iCloud or Google backups and device transfers. These are operating-system services, not a storage server operated by us. Backup creation, restoration and deletion follow Apple or Google settings and services; restoration is not guaranteed on every device.

5. Fair play

Do not copy, distribute or reverse engineer the software beyond what the law allows, or infringe the rights of others. Game records are stored on your device; we have no feature for remotely suspending an account or editing those records.

6. Purchases and advertising

The current version has no purchases and no advertising. If we introduce them, the applicable terms will be shown before you buy anything.

7. Our content

The StockPets name, art, characters, text and software belong to GATEPOP Inc. or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to play the game for non-commercial purposes.

8. Changes and availability

We may correct content and data or change features through app updates. Notices about support and updates are posted on this website.

9. Ending your use

Choose Start over in Settings and confirm to reset progress on this device. Export any records you need first. Copies exported elsewhere must be deleted separately. Records may be unrecoverable after uninstalling the app or losing the device.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, StockPets is provided “as is”. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in its courts.

12. Changes to these terms

Changes and their effective date are posted on this page. The current app has no notifications or server synchronization; check this website for current notices.
